Beelieve

"BeeLieve is a four-year Erasmus+ initiative to revolutionize apiculture education and promote sustainable beekeeping across Europe."

How it all works

BeeLieve is an ambitious four-year initiative funded by Erasmus+, dedicated to revolutionizing apiculture education and promoting sustainable beekeeping practices across Europe.

1

Sustainability

Foster eco-friendly practices in apiculture by promoting organic beekeeping and biodiversity conservation.

2

Skill Development

Equip participants with the latest knowledge and hands-on training in beekeeping, business, and digital skills to meet the needs of the industry.

3

Innovation & Research

Engage in applied research to advance hive management techniques, bee health, and the integration of digital tools.

Approach

The BeeLieve project will establish CoVEs in strategic locations within partner countries. These centers will act as hubs for practical, industry-aligned learning and research. Through collaborations between vocational education institutions, beekeeping associations, and industry experts, BeeLieve will develop and implement training modules that address the specific needs of the apiculture sector.

Promotion of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion

The project will actively promote inclusion by supporting women and rural unemployed individuals interested in apiculture careers. BeeLieve’s training will provide targeted support to increase diversity and representation in beekeeping, aiming to raise the participation of underrepresented groups by 30%. Activities will also include showcasing successful women in apiculture as role models, encouraging broader representation and equity within the industry .

Project Activities

Enhancing Practical Training and Work-Based Learning

Practical training is central to BeeLieve’s mission. Through partnerships with local beekeepers and industry stakeholders, the project will offer apprenticeships, internships, and hands-on training in hive management, honey extraction, pest control, and queen rearing.

Development of Digital Literacy and Smart Apiculture

BeeLieve aims to integrate digital tools in apiculture, introducing participants to hive monitoring technology, data analysis, and other digital skills essential for modern beekeeping.

" Public Outreach, Awareness Campaigns, and Knowledge Dissemination "

To raise public awareness of apiculture and its importance, BeeLieve will conduct campaigns, public events, and educational workshops aimed at highlighting the critical role of bees in ecosystems.
